“There’s just something really special about this place…”
Maranatha has hosted summer camp and groups of all ages and sizes since shortly after the initial purchase of 98 acres along the Tennessee River over 50 years ago. In the decades since, Maranatha has perservered as a place set apart, where all people can encounter God in His creation for the purpose of lifeĀ change.
The Makings of Maranatha Alumni
Maranatha Alumni are all those who have attended, staffed, volunteered, retreated, and otherwise been impacted by a camp or event at Maranatha. Together, across generations, we’ve experienced the unique connection that Maranatha provides to God, nature, and each other. We volunteer, do hard labor, pray, help with fundraising, and raise scholarship funds to send underprivileged kids to a lifechanging week of summer camp.
Our alumni stretch back to 1954 and span 4 generations. We are grandparents, children, and in some cases lifelong campers – yes, grownups can come to camp too! Our generous donations, prayers, support, and gifts of time, talent, and money not only enable camp’s mission now, they help make camp ready for the next generation of Maranatha Alumni.
